Meet our Youth Director!
Susie Barr
Susie was born and raised in Canton, OH. While she was growing up, She
attended Lake Cable, St. Michael's, Pleasant View School for the Arts and
Jackson High School. Susie went to Ashland University for 3 semesters and
transferred to Kent State, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in
Psychology and a Minor in Music. She completed her Master of Arts in
Christian Ministries at Malone College in December of 2004.
She was baptized at Westbrook UMC in Canton and has been attending Faith UMC
since her parents transferred and joined in 1986. She was confirmed by Rev. Rich
Rustad in 1994 and participated in Instruments of Praise, Joy Unlimited, Faith
Ringers, Sunday night UMYF, and 2 mission trips (to Iowa and Maine). Susie loves
working with youth and is so thankful that God
opened the door for her at Faith.
Susie currently lives in North Canton with her 2 cats. She is excited to welcome
a new roommate on May 5 - after she gets married! Susie met Chris Theobald on
last summer's mission trip, at Henderson Settlement, KY, where Faith's youth
group and his youth group stayed and worked together. Faith UMC's associate from
a few years back, Rev. Mike Grant, is the pastor at
Damascus UMC, where Chris is the youth pastor. Needless to say, we think Rev.
Mike had a hand in the development of our relationship - and we are so excited
to join our lives together as one!
Susie enjoys working on her house, inside and out, reading, walking at the
park, and ice cream. :-) Susie also loves to sing and play the piano and hopes
to someday produce a few of her own songs. Keep your eyes peeled!
