After
School Program
Description
The after school program is for
children ages kindergarten through the 5th grade. The schedule
corresponds with the North Canton school schedule for days off,
etc. Care is provided before and after school, and all day in the
summer. Bussing arrangements have been made with all North Canton
Elementary schools and the Kindergarten Center for both morning
pick-up and afternoon drop off. Lunches are provided for both the
am and pm kindergarteners and for all children in the summer
months. Planned activities include table games, gym time, study
time, sports activities, arts and crafts and computer time.
Snacks
Nutritional snacks are served to
the children mid-morning and mid-afternoon. Children may provide a
nutritional snack for a birthday, holiday, or on other occasions.
However, all snacks must be store bought and include ingredient
label.
Lunch
A lunch will be provided which
provides for at least one-third of the child's recommended daily
dietary allowance supplied from the four basic food groups. The
lunch menus are posted each week. Substitutions may be made for
various side dishes, but will still be from that food group. The
children will go to the dining room and sit at tables as a family
with staff members.
