Membership Care Ministry

Membership Care Vision Statement

Fellowship

Our purpose is to provide an informal setting where people can participate in a social activity such as a play, picnic, sporting event, game night etc.  Here as we get to know one another better, we can be a support for each other, sharing our sorrows as well as our joys. Our lives are enriched by our interactions with others.

A fellowship group is forming for couples and singles in their thirties.  Our February activity will be an evening of silly card games - no card playing skills needed!
We’ll meet Friday, February 8th at 7 pm at the home of John and Georgeann Clark.  Bring a snack to share!  Contact Molly Meister 330-494-4792 or for more information.

“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:20

      Faith Prayer Shawl Ministry

We gather each month in the church parlor to knit, pray and discuss possible recipients of our shawls. Shawls were given to an elderly woman  with serious health issues, a child who lost a parent, two persons battling cancer and a woman who is heavily burdened.
When a shawl is complete, we pass it around so that each knitter can
hold it and pray for the person who will receive it. When a shawl is presented to someone, it includes a prayer and a card stating it was made by Faith Church Prayer Shawl Ministry.
At this time, we have about fourteen dedicated knitters and have completed about fifteen shawls. If you crochet, you are welcome to join us.  Patterns are available.
You can also help through prayers and donations. Both are needed and would be greatly appreciated. Ten to fifteen dollars will  buy enough yarn to make a shawl, but any amount will be welcome.

One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. Proverbs 11:24
A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed. Proverbs 11: 25

Home Communion

Please let us know if you are interested in taking communion but are unable to attend church.  We can make arrangements to bring communion to  you.

And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, ”This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”   Luke 22: 19

Hospitality Teams

We provide food for those who need a meal; for someone coming home from the hospital, or someone who is housebound and needs a little extra help. These meals are provided on a short term basis until the person can get back on their feet or to provide a little relief for the care giver.

Food is also provided following the funeral of memorial service of a loved one if the family requests this service. We hope to provide not only food, but moral support and love with helping hands during difficult times.

My command is this: Love one another as I have loved you.  John 15:12

Prayer Ministry

Purpose of the Prayer Task Group is to nurture the total prayer life of Faith Church.  To coordinate the various prayer groups in existence and to work with the staff and ministry areas to determine prayer needs.

To help people understand the importance and power of prayer; to have an active faith and personal prayer life; to have the desire to intercede on the behalf of others through prayer; to experience the power of prayer personally and to learn more about prayer.

Volunteers are always needed and welcomed.

“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”   1 Thessalonians 5:16

Wisdom is a shelter as money is a shelter, but the advantage of knowledge is this: that wisdom  preserves the life of its possessor.”  Ecc. 7:12

Social Events

We are charged with organizing three or four church wide social/fellowship events for friends, families and church members to participate in. Our goals are to encourage our church family to have fun together, to get to know one another better and care for each other as the family of Faith.

“How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!”  1 John 3:1

The Cookery

The Cookery
This is a service to our church when activities require a meal, lunch or just cookies or dessert. It comes from the Cookery with love and a commitment on our part to serve our church needs.
