Meet the FUMC Team
Cara Stultz Costello
Cara is a life-long United Methodist who becomes more enamored each day with John Wesley’s particular way of loving God in Christ and loving people. She delights that the faith journey with Jesus is as much about the questions we ask as the answers we receive, the steps we take as the places we land, the process we follow as the outcome we discern. She is honored to be a fellow traveler with the people of Christ at Faith UMC and to be engaged in ministry together with them in the community of North Canton and the world. Cara is married to Steve – yes, her co-pastor! They have two boys – Eli and Atticus – who are smart, energetic and creative and keep their parents hopping! Cara and Steve met while, respectively, pursuing their Masters of Divinity at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. They fell in love in the midst of towers of books of Methodist History and Doctrine, Homiletics, Church History, Pastoral Care, Church Administration, Christian Ethics and Systematic Theology. They stay in love while putting “legs on that knowledge” (and seeking forgiveness when they don’t) together every day.
Director of Communications and Digital Arts Specialist
Jennie holds two positions including the Director of Communications and the Digital Arts Specialist. She is responsible for internal and external communications, graphic design, print production as well as online social media, website development and our electronic newsletter, The Navigator. Jennie graduated from Columbus College of Art and Design (CCAD) in 2007 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Advertising and Graphic Design. Since graduation, Jennie has eight years of experience ranging from advertising agencies to corporate graphics design departments. Jennie is recently engaged to her fiancé, Paul and they are planning their wedding for fall 2017. They both are new members of Faith United Methodist Church. They look forward to growing spiritually in their faith journey, being active members of the community and hope to raise a family in the future. Jennie enjoys spending time with her family, attending concerts and working with Paul around their home, a farmhouse in Plain Township.
Sue is a part-time Administrative Assistant at FUMC. She says it is a privilege to work with the enthusiastic, passionate people on staff, the office Angels, and visitors to the church office.
Sue and her husband Don were married, by Barb Rich, over 28 years ago at Faith United Methodist Church. They have two daughters that are grown but continue to keep them very busy. Their oldest daughter Morgan was recently married and lives in Australia. Mallory is at Purdue pursuing an Engineering degree. Don and Sue have recently been blessed with a 3 year old Golden Retriever mix named Ella.
Several of Sue’s hobbies are knitting, running with friends, biking, hiking, and any outdoor activity … which includes camping in the family 1978 VW Microbus. Sue has an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Ohio State University. She has had the pleasure of enjoying many different careers from a Software Engineer at Diebold, stay-at-home mom, high school substitute teacher, a wonderful array of volunteer experiences and finally to Administrative Assistant at FUMC.
Modern Worship Coordinator
James is the Modern Worship Coordinator where he leads the worship band for the 9:45am service. He is thankful for the opportunity to serve Faith United Methodist in this way and looks forward to finding new ways to enhance the Modern Worship Service. He grew up in the Canton area, spent years trying to shred on guitar like Eddie Van Halen, and eventually found a love for leading worship in his late teen years. He moved to downtown Chicago to attend Moody Bible Institute where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and served on staff at some very diverse churches in Chicago – from an inner city church to an Asian immigrant church in the suburbs! He has been leading music for churches for over 20 years – as well as having served in almost every capacity one can serve within a church. Currently he works during the week for Malone University in administration, and living for his passions: his kids, all kinds of music, and Star Wars.

Modern Worship Keyboardist

Sandy currently teaches piano, is staff accompanist for Kent Stark, Jackson schools and elsewhere. She also serves as Cherub Choir director and keyboard player for Faith. She and husband David, also a professional musician, have six grown children and one grandchild. Sandy looks forward to continuing to serve her church and God through her gift of music.
Byron L. "Butch" Ransom
Afternoon and Sunday Custodian
The evening custodian is responsible for cleaning the preschool and church offices, taking care of any special needs of groups meeting in the evenings. This person is also responsible for locking and securing the building before leaving. The Sunday custodian opens the church in Sunday and readies it for the worship services and any special activities and is responsible for returning Sunday evenings and locking and securing the building and reading the preschool for Monday. My family has been a member of Faith Church since 1967. I have served the church in every capacity except trustee and lay leader. Two of the most notable is being the creator and leader of "Junior Church" for 23 of its 24 years. Also being the adult leader and coordinator of the Youth Summer Mission Trip for 25 years. In the role of evening and Sunday custodian you are often the person first seen by people entering the church and become the impression they have of the church and how comfortable they are while at the church. The up keep also can be a way that the person sees the church and how it functions. I believe that for the most part learning something about the person and their names can go a long way in their becoming members and feeling comfortable at Faith church. Graduate of;
Lehman High School, Canton
American Institute of Banking, New York City
Attended New York University School of Business (2 years)
Taught and sold Dale Carnegie courses in Effective Communications and Human Relations, Management, Sales.
Steve Stultz Costello
I grew up in Dumfries, Virginia. I'm the youngest of four. I've always loved music, math, science, the outdoors, and good stories! In college, I majored in mechanical engineering dreaming I'd be an engineer by day and a jazz and classical musician by night. Then, I worked one summer at Camp Alta Mons in Shawsville, VA and began to feel a call to ministry. Following that call led me to Cara in Seminary, to Ohio in separate parish ministries and to North Canton Faith UMC in ministry together as co-pastors. It's a great place to be raising a family. Thank you God!
Amy was born in Hartville, Ohio, and has lived in Canton for the last 15 years. She was involved in mission work all throughout high school and from high school went into a discipleship training program with Youth With A Mission. Afterwards, she traveled to India on a mission trip for 2 months, which proved to be a life changing event. She is currently enrolled at Malone University where she is majoring in Theology and greatly enjoys being able to study the topics she is most passionate about. Amy has 2 children, Elijah (7) and Eden (1.5), who make her laugh daily. Her husband James is the Modern Worship Coordinator at Faith UMC for the 9:45 Service. James also has 2 children, Levi (6) and Hannah (4). Amy is excited for the ability to serve in the same church as her husband. She is very excited to have the opportunity to serve as the Youth Director at Faith UMC. She is particularly looking forward to connecting with the youth during 5th/6th Grade Transition Retreat, Youth Annual Conference, VBS, the Senior High Youth Mission Trip, Middle School Mission Week, and all youth related events.
Amy has a diverse background in church activities from missions trips, worship leading, hospitality, and youth ministry. She is looking forward to using her gifts to serve at Faith UMC. Amy has a deep appreciation for the United Methodist Church, in particular the heritage of the Wesley brothers’ ministry. In her spare time she enjoys relaxing with her family, studying the faith, and listening to NPR. Amy has always resonated with music as well and enjoys writing songs as time allows, but her favorite thing to do in the whole world is to snuggle with her kids and watch movies with them.
