Sunday School Workshop Rotational Model
Faith Church
is totally changing the way children K-6 experience Sunday
School! We are moving to the
Workshop Rotational Model, affectionately called
the WoRM.
There are two major thrusts to this revision. First,
over the next year or so, we will be redecorating the
children's Sunday School rooms, starting with the lower
level. The former youth rooms will be changed into
vibrant, Biblically-based settings for Sunday School.
The first room, the Creative Cooking Station, is complete.
The room contains food themes from the Bible. You'll
see a banquet table in the "Faith Cafe." In another
corner, there is Jesus feeding the 5000. A third
wall shows a mother and child making bread. There's
even a "custodian" with a broom behind the door.
This room is equipped with a small kitchen. In the
fall, children will cycle through the cooking station on
their weekly Faith Journeys.
That brings us to the second major change in Sunday School
- cirriculum. A major Bible story will be featured
each month. Every Sunday, the grade level groups of
children will travel with the adult "shepherds" and
experience the story through different stations.
There will be art, music, storytelling, games, cooking
video, and science stations, 6 at 9:30 am and 2 different
stations at 10:45 am. A computer station is planned
once there is funding for the computers. Teachers
will prepare one lesson per month, presenting it to a
different group of children each week. |
